Coach

Phil Lang

Signing on to coach the Bears for the next three seasons, Phil brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience both as a player and a coach. Playing a number of seasons of top level cricket in Melbourne with stints at Geelong clubs South Barwon, St Peters and most recently St. Albans/Breakwater. 

 

A distinguished wicket-keeper claiming over 300 dismissals with the gloves.  Phil is also a dominant batsman, amassing over 8000 runs, with a career average in the 30's.

​

Phil is looking forward to mentoring our young playing group, focusing on the batsman maintaining their wicket and increasing their average.

Assistant Coach

Mike Norris

Mike brings with him a wealth of experience, playing 1st XI cricket for St Albans the past three seasons where he made 845 runs, including a ton and 5 fifties. Mike also bowled and took a handy 24 wickets during this time.

​

Mike will add further strength to our batting line-up and with prior coaching experience at both St Albans and Guild St Marys. Mike alongside Jack will assist Phil, adding another layer of support, experience and knowledge to help guide our young group on and off the field.

Development Coach

Jack Cain

Jack Cain joined Marshall Cricket Club last year eager to take on new opportunities in coaching and has quickly made his mark.

 

Stepping into the role of Assistant Coach for the women’s cricket team, Jack has brought fresh energy, strong leadership, and a genuine passion for player development. His dedication to helping others grow both on and off the field reflects his commitment to the club and its future success.

 

Not only a mentor, but also a capable player himself, Jack impressed last season with a standout top score of 113.

Women's Coach

Ash Lewis

This season, our inaugural women’s cricket team will be coached by Ash, a Marshall Cricket Club Life Member, who has been a key part of our cricket community for many years.

​

With over 15 years experience coaching MCC junior teams, Ash has played an important role in helping our young players transition into senior cricket, often working in the lower grades to provide guidance and support.

​

A dedicated clubman both on and off the field, his experience, cricket smarts, and understanding of player development will be invaluable in guiding the new team through its first year, building a strong foundation for the future of our women's cricket program.
